Through a method known as Remote Attestation, it is possible to verify whether an application is running in a genuine and trusted TEE environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phala Cloud makes it easier for developers to run existing applications in TEE environments. Developers can deploy Docker-based applications as Confidential Virtual Machines (CVMs), allowing a wide range of software, from AI models to financial applications, to benefit from secure computing infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phala Network aims to provide privacy and verifiability, particularly for AI applications. When AI models run within a TEE, user data and computations performed by the model can remain within an isolated environment. At the same time, it can be verified that these processes are being executed in a trusted environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, Phala Network transitioned from its previous parachain infrastructure to a new architecture built around Ethereum and Phala L2. In this structure, Ethereum is used for staking and asset management, while Phala L2 serves as the execution layer for confidential computing and GPU-based workloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PHA is the native cryptocurrency of the Phala ecosystem. The PHA token can be used for staking and within the economic mechanisms that support Phala\u2019s computing infrastructure.
