With Ethereum 2.0, the Ethereum network transitioned from the Proof of Work (PoW) protocol to Proof of Stake (PoS). In response to this transition, the idea of EthereumPoW emerged as a countermeasure. While the Ethereum network switched to the Proof of Stake protocol with The Merge, it was decided that the forked version would remain on the Proof of Work protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EthereumPoW was created by Ethereum miners in response to the transition of Ethereum to the Proof of Stake protocol, which makes Ethereum mining no longer possible. As a result, miners who can no longer use their mining hardware for Ethereum decided to propose creating a new network through a hard fork of the Ethereum blockchain. It was decided that the new blockchain would continue using the Proof of Work protocol.
